Today we left and started our journey to Budapest. We arrived around 5pm and started with a tour. It is my first time in Budapest and I am absolutely in love with this city. Andris took us around the city; we walked to the castle, the parliament and the river. He also gave us recommendations on where to go and what to do during our free time. We finished our night having dinner together and bonding as a team.
After the time that we spent in the countryside, we are finally in Budapest. Fresh from the boat we started off the tour through Budapest from Stephen’s Basilica with Andris. Hostel Culture Tour did a great job showing us the most beautiful sights of the city in a very interactive way. On these days off, I don’t want to travel anywhere; I’m going to stay here and discover the city. This is my first time in Budapest and it will definitely not be the last.
Today was the day to say goodbye to Egyesek Youth Association and return to Budapest. We will definitely miss this NGO and everything we did while there. The team did their best to show us their hard work and put us in touch with the kids that receive support from them. It was a great experience and I just want to say a massive thank you to the NGO for the opportunity to work with them, and a gigantic thanks you to those lovely kids that captivated our attention with their smiles and energy.
Back in Budapest we had an evening tour with Andris. It was a great tour and Andris had an amusing way to tell us memorable stories about Budapest. The city is beautiful and the view from the top of the hill is breathtaking. The magic of the night and the city lights make Budapest even more special for me.
After the tour we had dinner together and then the girls went to sleep in one hostel and the boys in another. It was the first time that we did not sleep in the same hostel. When we got to the hotel it felt like something was missing. I guess we are getting very used to being together all the time.
