The first morning in the jungle inside the bamboo hut was unforgettable. I’ve never seen such a dense concentration of animals in my life. Birds, flies, frogs, cats, dogs, geckos, crabs fighting every minute for their lives, eating each other and trying to survive. I woke up around 6 o’clock to work out, here I have all the equipment and machine I could only dream about to have in the middle of the jungle. Basically, I intend to spend 10 days here on my usual life regime that I used to have before coming here. I am going to dedicate time to working out, eating healthy natural food without eating any kind of meat, (it is my 6th day) trying to go to bed early and just let my body recharge.
Today, from 8 to 11 am and from 2 to 5 pm we had our first permaculture class with Tim. I have to admit that the information that he gave us was in abundance. Most of the class were trying not to fall asleep, probably that’s related to the heat. Talking about permaculture we are getting a lot of general information about the nature of things. For now I like everything about this place and am happy that WLE paid for this pretty expensive course for us, so I really appreciate it.
“Oh my God, today I woke up and I realized I am in the jungle!! I looked around and my room is a bungalow and l was sleeping under a net to avoid the mosquitos. I guess I was so tired yesterday that I did not pay attention to all the details. When I went to take a shower, another surprise! There are no conventional bathrooms here and there is a note on the wall saying "share your shower water with our plants". I looked around once again and I see an open bathroom full of plants and a sunny sky above. Now I know this is going to be 10 days of pure adventure!
After breakfast we meet all the people that are staying on the raktamachat farm and we spent some time walking around and seeing all the beauty that comes from nature. The place is amazing and I am very impressed. I just wish they had mosquitos that do not bite people! hahaha
In the afternoon we had a permaculture course introduction with Tim and basically, he explained to us what we are going to learn in the next 10 days. I am very excited about it.”
