“We visited MAAT – Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology in Lisbon. The building itself is a beautiful piece of architecture; the exterior is made up of ceramic tiles – a tribute to Lisbon’s cultural history.
The museum is currently hosting an exhibition of Portuguese and international artists. Video and art installations cover the topics from political to social and cultural issues. What is democracy? How the latest financial crisis has transformed our lives? How much do we control our lives? What effect does news have on us? These are some of the questions that artists pose. Whatever is the subject, they make us challenge our points of view and change our lens.”
“Visit a museum could be for someone a boring activity, but the exposition that we saw in the MAAT touch the feelings of everybody; the exposition of Grada Kilomba show us that the story of African people is not that the colonous were telling us and there is other side to learn, teach and discover.”
