“Today was a really good day, we started in the morning with a super breakfast, then we rode our bicycles to the City center of Almere where we had a tour. Almere is a new city, just,45 years old, and is below sea level. The city has 3 layers: the first one is for cars, the second for shopping and the last one, for houses. We visited the library, a shopping centre, and the theatre. Then we came back and had African dance classes. It's so good to mix with different cultures to get to know people, to know about their feelings, their life. The guide was so funny and he taught us with so much love.
In the end, we had a delicious meal, cooked by Matat, a man from Syria, who came to the Netherlands two years ago.”
As usual, we took our bikes and made a 30 min trip to Almere, where our tour guide was excited about showing us the unique city. Modern, young and much cheaper than Amsterdam-that is my conclusion. The way the Dutch are taking care of the valuable land and creating cities is amazing. The afternoon was dedicated to playing some music and dancing. This place feels like home.
